BT Switch-Off

BT Group is switching off its telecoms network in early 2027. All copper-based broadband needs to move to a service that doesn’t rely on a standard phone line. If you have full fibre, there’s nothing to worry about. 

Otherwise, you need to move to a ‘digital’ service, which can be with or without a VoIP phone service. The service will use the same copper connection as the phone line-based service but will be disconnected from the old telephone exchange.
